Don’t Go At It Alone

abide in me2

At times my Christian experience is burdened with doubt and fear, failure and weakness. On occasion it seems pointless, lacks zeal and “how” to use God’s gifts often eludes me. These thoughts, like a vice, gripped my mind as the word of God in church was preached. Jesus said:

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (Jn.15:4-5).

The following poem is the heavenly Father’s reminder of this eternal truth.

DON’T GO AT IT ALONE

(© 2014 Sergio R. Tangari)

Don’t go at it alone,
My child just cling to me,
The struggles you endure,
Will soon like vapor flee

Know my delight is in the soul,
Whose mind knows that I see
The hidden motives of the heart,
Whose bud will soon be free

To flourish and to blossom,
This I have ordained
But only through my power,
Your work shall be sustained.
